The base on the north side is really good. If it wasn't May now and it was snowing properly again, that would be a super good starting point. But it's May and you have to make the best of it, which means the snow will come relatively quickly. I give the area another 1 to 1.5 weeks, then the carrying routes should be so long that it's no longer fun here. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. So be early in the next few days and you can still go on very relaxed tours here. At the moment you have to carry 50 meters until the snow starts. Once you have to unbuckle briefly in between, it was still possible today but the snow field was already very thin. On the sunny side there is already a lot of snow, of course, but overall the area has seen the best snow conditions of the season in the last 2-3 weeks.

The softened artificial snow at the bottom was the best to ski on. Not so great at the top. Unfortunately I was also a bit late.

Risks

The snow cover has been heavily soaked and some loose snow avalanches have become considerably large. It is therefore essential to pay attention to the daytime course. On the slopes otherwise low. However, this does not mean that a completely swamped slope cannot slide down.

Up to now, the route is still short and therefore offers good touring conditions for this time of year with very little effort. You also don't have to get up quite as early as for high alpine ventures.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
