You can start from Hungerburg with skins. On the descent you can also get down again, but it is difficult to avoid contact with stones on the lower part of the forest path and you have to ski very carefully. Of course, the mountain pines are not really closed yet. On the meadow slopes it is still easy enough and the face of the long saddle is also easy to ride.

The snow was still surprisingly powdery on the south side. No cover, of course a bit settled by now, but outstanding powder snow. And that from the top of the long saddle to the bottom of the Höttinger Graben. Thanks to the cold temperatures and the low power of the sun.

Risks

The fresh snow has already settled well on the south side. Wind signs only at the very top near the ridge. A smaller, older board was visible below the ridge. Apart from that, we also saw a gliding snow mouth in steep meadow terrain (see pictures). You should watch out for gliding snow, in my opinion fresh snow and drift snow have already settled well and look stable (south-facing!). According to the LLB, it looks worse on shady slopes, but we were only on the south side.

Ski tour to the long saddle from the Hungerburg via the 3-person descent and Höttinger Alm. Start at 4:15 am at the Hungerburg and almost at the top in time for sunrise. Beautiful sunrise and outstanding snow quality from the very top to almost the very bottom. The face of the long saddle also offers enough options to find a nice line. After a tour like this, you definitely go to work happy :D
