Exposition
Snow condition
Ski tour in the Granatspitz group. At the moment there is still snow to start from 1600 m and also to ski down. However, the amount of snow is already quite thin at this altitude. From >2000 m there is an average of 25 cm of fresh snow. Above 2000 m the snow conditions are ok, but you should watch out for stones, especially on the edges of the terrain. 2 stars.
Snow quality
Very fine, lightly set, butter-soft April powder. Thanks to the early start, the snow quality was in perfect condition until midday despite the two ascents. 4 stars.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
From the first rays of sunshine onwards, loose snow avalanches have been coming down from the sunny steep terrain for the entire duration of the ski tour. Due to the continuing problem of old snow, we have taken a more defensive approach to today's tour.
Overall impression
Very fine day of touring with the best weather and super powder snow (4 stars).
