Snow condition

overnight, up to 10cm pow, but quite heavy. from 1100m there is enough snow on the north and east side to put on your skis. from about 1200m there is a continuous snow cover. on the south side it often looks quite thin, but despite the new snow, which covers everything nice and white again, you can guess the previously apery places and ski around them.

Snow quality

powder snow all day long. when the sun came out in the afternoon, the south side was immediately sticky, lumpy and heavy. the north side had great pow all day long.

the bayer einser was quite courageous today. above about 1800m, there was a lot of snow. behind ridges and crests, there was also a lot of snow. when entering the n-gully, i cleared a lot of snow and released a considerable amount of loose snow, but it quickly ran out again. in principle, the fresh snow, even the transported snow, holds quite well on the not-so-hard surface. if you don't pick the steepest line, it works quite well with the sluff management today.

Overall impression

starting out on my bike in light snow. from midday onwards, the sun started to clear and from around 2pm onwards, the sky was almost cloudless. the first star for the weather forecast, which was right.
the second for the great pow.
the third for the fact that I was completely alone today (apart from a fox, a chamois and a few ravens) and had a whole valley to myself and
the fourth for the great descent, which I had wanted to do for a long time. no rocks and north was definitely the right choice today.
