Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Altitude

1800 - 3000m

Avalanche warning level

considerable (3)

Exposition

North-Eas East South-East South

Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne
Descent to valley (to 1800 m)
Descent through forest

Still outstanding snow conditions for the time of year and the high temperatures of the last few days: Largely closed 1.5 - 2.5 m snow cover between the valley floor (1800 m) and the summits (3000 m).

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Slush
Firn
Jelly snow

The snow is mostly wet - at altitude (>2600m) and on the north side it is still dry in places. The radiation during the night was just enough to form a thin layer.

Risks

Diurnal warming
Much water in the snow cover

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

Many, sometimes very large and wide avalanches, presumably after/during the last heavy precipitation. The progressive soaking of the snowpack prevented us from going on longer excursions into the open terrain.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne
Worse

Escaped the heat and remembered 'winter with snow in the valley'. 4 stars despite sulz and lazy snow, because white (or ochre-colored) runs down to the valley should be rewarded in April.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
