Exposition
Snow condition
Tuesday's snowfall has settled well and is an invitation to ski from around 1300 m in meadow terrain, especially in hollows and wind-protected areas. Even there, contact with the enemy must be expected at all times. A closed snow cover can be found from approx. 1200 m. Below that, it quickly becomes really thin, even on a north-facing forest trail. Descents went down to just below 1000 m. Early February and you can only reach the valley on foot on the north side. With no precipitation in sight in the near future, the whole thing does not speak for a normal or even longer season.
Snow quality
In the wind-protected terrain, beautiful soft snow with a knee-deep layer of fresh snow from yesterday. Only the partial lack of a base reduced the line options somewhat. On the way back to the valley, the fog moved into the terrain. Tomorrow the quality of the snow will decrease due to the fog and the sun.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
This morning, the main danger came solely from terrain traps. The fresh snow from Tuesday mostly fell again on the bare ground in our terrain today. Wind was only noticeable in a few exposed places today.
Overall impression
The snow was quite good at the top. However, the snow conditions are pretty miserable and there is no clear improvement in sight. At the beginning of February, you don't want to wear your skis yet.
