Exposition
Snow condition
The wind was blowing hard yesterday and last night and took the fresh snow of the last few days in its stride
Video
Snow quality
Wind has worked the fine powder too hard in places
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Altitude: 2400 m – 3200 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Significantly less wind than yesterday
Overall impression
Today we headed back into the northern basin of the col du lautaret in glorious sunshine. The goal was the western summit. However, we skipped it. There was a storm at the top yesterday and a descent in the upper 200 m didn't look very inviting.
