Far too little snow for the time of year in Kolm Saigurn. However, quite enough if you were on the move with the necessary caution.

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Inhomogeneous snow cover and also very different quality of snow. Snow condition was very dependent on the exposure. Loose snow was still to be found in shady, wind-protected northern locations. The last fresh snow was from the previous week and was still quite loose in places and very nice to ski on. Already firn in sunny areas.

Better

We spent the last five days in Kolm Saigurn (Goldberggruppe, Salzburg). Surprisingly good conditions despite the snow depth being well below average. The snow quality was far better than expected (feared) and the first time this year that you could speak of good snow quality in places. Despite two days with foehn wind conditions, we found loose, almost powdery snow several times. In addition, a smooth firn tour at the end (in the Bockkarscharte area).
