Snow condition
This must currently be assessed according to altitude. Downhill runs are only possible on grass. From approx. 1500 m the snow conditions are good on the shaded side and from approx. 2000 m the snow conditions are excellent in all exposures. Exposed areas are partly blown away. Tours at these altitudes should last a long time this year.
Snow quality
Over 2,200 m of wet fresh snow that is easy to ski. Below that, it quickly becomes very difficult to ski. Below 1800 m, it's actually already too wet to have fun.
Risks
In the high mountains, the wind was strong and died down around noon. Above 2,200 m some spontaneous releases (locally limited). Where the snow is fun, there's a 3 that fits. Some fish mouths can be seen on steep slopes. Especially above 2,200m.
Overall impression
The ski resorts in the Montafon are too low for the current situation to enjoy the fresh powder off-piste. A few nice runs would probably have been possible in the Silvretta. Now it's supposed to get colder again and in the afternoon the SF limit was around 1,000 meters. If the volumes and the temperature are right in the future, then a lot is possible above 1,500m.
