Snow condition
I was surprised, it wasn't that bad. From the First (2100m) you can set off on the piste/hiking trail without any problems. From Bachalpsee onwards, the snow conditions increase quickly, but mainly because you move from south-facing slopes to west and north-facing slopes. The snow has remained there and the strong westerly storms have deposited some drift snow.
Snow quality
It's not good, but in the shade of the Reeti the snow has remained reasonably good and you can make nice turns. Broken snow would be worse. In any case, caution is advised. The terrain is still uneven and you have to be prepared for stones. But I didn't hit a single stone.
Risks
Low. The Simelihorn is a challenging tour that often cannot be completed due to the risk of avalanches. At the moment, however, it can be done without any problems. It also has a good ascent track. Ski depot at the summit ridge, then easy ascent to the summit in good snow.
Overall impression
Certainly not top conditions. But it was better than expected. Perhaps a little insider tip these days. The tour from First takes about 2 hours. No valley descent is open from First. A perfect combination with a paraglider. Tour description: The Simelihorn is located north of the Reeti between the Reeti and Faulhorn. These two peaks are described in the Freeride Guide Jungfrau Region. However, I did not include the Simelihorn in the book as an "insider tip". The tour leads from Bachalpsee towards Reeti, turning off to the right early on and finding a way through the rocks.
