Endlich Top Condition in der Jungfrau Region
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The snow conditions are good on the slopes above 2000m, especially on the W slopes. On the other hand, ridges and ridges as well as some E-slopes are completely blown off and this is much worse than in "normal" winters. there is no base below 1500m. With the fresh snow (20cm in the valley), the downhill run is also easy to do off-piste.
Snow quality
Absolutely great and we were even surprised. Gale-force winds had been forecast for the night. But obviously the wind dropped completely in the second half of the night and it snowed a little on top. In the afternoon, the snow became a little heavier, except on the N slopes. But in the morning we had a lot of fun. We've never had it this good this winter.
Risks
Considerable in all exposures. But there was a lot of drift snow, especially on the W slopes. However, I couldn't observe any spontaneous avalanches and had the feeling that the fresh snow had bonded well with the base layer.
Overall impression
What a dream day. At last! There you go. Keep up the good work.
