Snow report Montafon, 03/25/2016

Skitour in der Silvretta - ca. 20+ cm Neuschnee. Leider mit viel Wind und rasch steigenden Temperaturen. Oberhalb von 2.400 m war es schattseitig bis Mittag feinster Pulver!

Not exhilarating, but you can still ride quite a bit above 1,700 m. If it doesn't get too warm, touring is still possible for a long time. It's better on the north side but otherwise it looks lean. We skied from 2,600 - 1,000 m today. That won't last much longer.

Everything was there. Very fine powder, which became noticeably heavier from 2,000 m and from 1,700 m it is a sticky cardboard. It was quite good for the end of March.

Risks

A decent 2. The LLB described the situation well today. Close to the ridge and exposed areas had clear signs of wind. When entering drift snow packs (on the flat) there was usually a whomping noise. We did without the planned 40° slope. Especially on the east side there were fresh spontaneous descents. From midday onwards, the loose snow slides from the sunny, steep terrain became more frequent.

Was okay and the weather did its bit to make us feel good.
