Snow condition
The snow conditions are generally excellent, with meter-high walls of snow piling up in villages and streets. The further south you go, the more snow there is. Due to the often quite warm temperatures during snowfalls and the resulting wet snow, there is little blowing off even at high altitudes. There hasn't been such a good base here for a long time.
Snow quality
Changeable. On Thursday it was still raining at almost 2000m, so everything was muddy, with a layer of Sahara dust underneath. On Friday there was just under 10cm of fresh snow at 2000m, on Saturday another 30cm, which was particularly good in the forest, but above that there was a noticeable wind effect. Relatively warm, so the snow was rather heavy, especially on sun-exposed slopes. On Sunday, the snow was still great in places, but in some areas it was already hard and heavily influenced by the wind. All in all 3 stars.
Risks
Tricky. In addition to the drift snow, attention must be paid to wet snow slides, some of which are quite large.
Overall impression
Miserable on Thursday, ok on Friday, great on Saturday and still pretty good on Sunday...
