Not exactly exhilarating. On the plus side, you can ski down to the valley on artificial snow on Corvatsch and Corviglia. Very little snow at the top, though. Away from the valley, we found one or two lines in filled hollows. Hardly possible without stone contact. Max. 2 stars.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

It was very good. In the valley at 7.30 already/still 0 degrees. This meant that the artificial snow further down quickly became soft, otherwise it's a tough affair. The slopes at the top are wonderfully grippy. Off-piste, the powder snow cover (max. 10cm) is as soft as butter. Underneath is compact snow, sometimes only a few centimetres.

Risks

It's always difficult to judge when you only arrive for one day. You don't know what happened the days before, wind, snow, etc. According to the LLB on the Corviglia side a 2 / Corvatsch a 3. There is very little snow overall. The rocky areas in couloirs could be critical. Larger avalanches are not yet possible in my opinion, but that doesn't mean anything.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Very good day with a great mix of sun, fog, empty pistes and a few nice buttery off-piste runs. Until shortly after half past one on the Corviglia side, then until half past four on Corvatsch. Good timing is recommended for the changeover. We got into the car in Celerina at 13.40 and were in the gondola at Corvatsch at 13.57.... so it was pretty efficient. Overall, you can enjoy a very long day of skiing when the lift opens at 7.45 a.m., which makes the 82 francs more bearable.
