The reservoir area has received around 40 cm of fresh snow. Unfortunately, this time the wind was at work in the normally sheltered forest. As a result, the snow cover in the forest is quite inhomogeneous. It is very likely that some avalanches have occurred in the forest aisles during the heavy rain. Some of the avalanche boulders at the end of the aisles are quite unpleasant (risk of injury after the next snowfall!). The snow situation is good in the northern exposure in the forest, but will thin out again quite quickly in the others with the higher temperatures.

We skied a north-east and a north descent. In the north-east section, you could feel the old snow cover from time to time and the snow already had a thin crust in a few places. In the north exposure, there was still very nice powder snow. Although there were no great depths, there was also no contact with the old snow cover.

Risks

In the forest there were quite untypical drifts away from the ridge, so that the snow conditions changed quite quickly between a little and a lot of snow over a few meters on the ascent. The accumulations of drift snow close to the ridge were easy to see and therefore easy to avoid. The snow cover will settle quickly due to the spring-like temperatures. Numerous avalanches have occurred on steep, sunny slopes from later this morning.

A nice lonely day. The snow was still quite good on the north side and that's the only place you'll find powder in the coming days.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
