Snow report Jungfrau Region, 01/04/2017
Endlich Winter!!!.

Snow condition
More snow is urgently needed. The snow cover structure also leaves a lot to be desired. 30 cm of dry and cold snow fell on totally dry ground. A brief warm spell wouldn't do any harm.
Snow quality
Very airy snow. Hardly pressed by the wind.
Risks
The wind was strong at exposed locations and on the mountain ridges, but moderate in the ski area. The snow that has fallen in the Jungfrau Region is unlikely to be enough for avalanches, in particular there is not enough snow to penetrate steep, rocky terrain.
Overall impression
In the lower altitudes, where there is pastureland, you can enjoy yourself quite well at the moment. The valley descents are possible, but with the exception of the Mettlen piste, they are all still closed. The pistes in the Mürren, Männlichen and Kleine Scheidegg ski areas are well covered with snow. More information about the freeride mecca Jungfrau Region: www.freerideguide.ch
