If you want to avoid studs on your skis, you should not go up or down below 1000 meters. But then there will be more snow quickly and it will be nice and cold. On average, there was probably 20 or 25 cm of new snow today. The mid-levels in this region also surprised me today with a pretty good base, even in the west.

Finally a cold blower. For the first time this season. You can get through the crunchy old snow here and there, but it was difficult to really step on the gas today because of the flat visibility.

Risks

I have to admit that I didn't pay that much attention to the LLB on the comparatively safe no-brainer tour today. when I started sliding on steep sections, it felt more sluffy than slabby. However, the snow was definitely wind-bound and it was blowing more than heavy in the forest boundary area. The Bavarians already warn from 1500m with level 2 (GM fresh snow)

With the search criteria of public transport connections and a relatively high start, you quickly end up in Chiemgau at the Dürrnbachhorn, an insider tip whose beautiful summit slope you have to buy with a long hike or lift support. Today it was still a good choice and the summit slope went untracked twice because the bad weather scared away the Sunday skiers. With better visibility it would have been three runs and four stars. The best faceshots are still the ones you don't see coming
