Snow condition
The fresh snow of the last few days has covered up some of the areas that were already clear.
Snow quality
In the morning below 2300m it was crushed snow or a bearing cover, above that unfortunately a cover due to wind. From around 9:30 am, however, the sun softened the tops and it was great to ski.
Risks
Avalanches had been blown up around the Platt and had also come down with a relatively small avalanche edge, but over quite a large area.
Overall impression
Another good day with sunshine and fresh snow on the Zugspitze, even if it wasn't a dream day. Of course it was full... The parking lot was almost full by 8 am (1st gondola officially at 8:30 am). But thanks to the simultaneous use of trains and gondolas, the waiting time was kept within limits.
Two people descended from the summit to the Platt. I've been dreaming of this line for many years. If there is anyone here who would like to ride something like this, or if anyone knows someone... please get in touch.
