It's not much in Realp at 1600m. But you can still get off to a good start. Above 2000m the snow cover is good, but below average for the time of year.

It was difficult to make good turns. Thousands of ski tourers and wind were raging around Realp. We did find one or two corners with a little powder on the north side. Nevertheless, we can't give it more than two stars here either.

Risks

On the southern slopes there were very large snow avalanches. It rumbled from time to time today too. And even on slopes exposed to the west and east, you could see sliding snow cracks and avalanches. Overall, however, it was quite predictable.

Super sunny day with better snow than expected. You can only write that if you don't actually expect anything. Unbelievable how early the parking lots were full again, although an early start certainly didn't mean better snow. The atmosphere on the mountain was relaxed and good despite the hundreds of tourers.
But now we need snow again very soon!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
