Snow condition
Great, you can ski down to the valley station at 1500 m without any problems. It's also looking really good on the south side!
Snow quality
Between 40cm and 70cm of cold, light powder snow! Despite some strong winds in the meantime, the snow was still unconsolidated and correspondingly fluffy, except in a few places. Thanks to the low zero degree limit, it was great to ski down to the valley.
Risks
Since the heavy snowfall on Saturday night + Sunday, there has been a considerable risk of avalanches. Subjectively, however, I would say that it is still rather favorable for this amount of fresh snow: apart from a few places, the snow has hardly been transported and drift snow is easily recognizable.
Overall impression
As expected, the variants in the ski area were already pretty tricky and the weather didn't quite play along either: Apart from a short window in the early afternoon, visibility was not optimal and in between it snowed moderately to heavily. Nevertheless, it was a very successful day on the Gemsstock, where a well-considered choice of route revealed great lines through the (untracked) powder.
