Snow condition

It's the beginning of January and the slopes in the ski area are more brown than white. There is already good snow above 1800 m but it is still below average. Many bumps in the terrain are still visible.

Snow quality

Quarry slush! South-facing slopes have a more or less stable layer. Otherwise you ski as if on rails. The slopes are already snowing in the morning.

Risks

Steep terrain is still critical. South and southwest slopes seem to be more relaxed. Many very steep south-eastern slopes have seen base avalanches, even fresh ones in the late morning. Unfortunately, the old snow foundation is not the best.

Overall impression

Sunny day and enough snow to climb up. More exercise therapy, which can also be nice. The next fresh snow will fall on hardened layers, which certainly won't be fun.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
