Snow condition
The warm weather has caused the snow cover to settle quite a bit. One or two stones can definitely be discovered again. But with a little imagination and a good eye, you can still make beautiful tours without any stone contact.
Snow quality
Very varied, from wet snow to almost loose, light powder. That's why I gave it three stars, but if you get a run that's not quite so good, it can easily be just two stars.
Risks
The picture with the avalanche shows very well what is going on here at the moment..... We are still carrying the burden of the poor snowpack and I think it will stay that way for some time. The avalanche was triggered by two people, luckily they were able to drive away. I can only advise you to stay on flat terrain...you can have fun there too, see other pictures:-)
Overall impression
The good experiences make it easy to forget how hot the avalanche situation still is. However, in Switzerland alone, 12 avalanche victims in just under two weeks should be more than enough of a warning. If people are still skiing on such steep and very attractive slopes (as in the picture), then I have no understanding for it. Nevertheless, the current situation is a perfect school to be able to say "NO" and have fun with the otherwise possibly less spectacular descents. It did a lot of that today:-)
