Snow condition
The intermittent heavy snowfall since Friday evening has now brought the first significant snow. Due to the strong winds, however, it did not remain evenly distributed everywhere. It is estimated that 20 to max. 30 cm had fallen by midday today. The snow line was still around 300-400 meters in the morning hours, but rose to around 700 meters by midday.
Snow quality
The finest powder looks different, in some places it was sleeting and the snow was probably no good as a proper base.
Risks
Visibility was very limited today and in the storm we only made it as far as the old transmission tower. However, it can be assumed that the little snow that has now fallen on the known slopes has already led to the formation of cornices and drift snow deposits.
Overall impression
A reasonable condition for the first ski tour in the Black Forest this winter. Today we wondered who all wanted to go up the Feldi, the pure traffic chaos, summer tire pilots, putting on chains in the steepest places and then the trucks made sure that we needed over an hour from Freiburg through the Höllental, back we went over the Notschrei, a little more pleasant. Today the 2-seater chair and a tugboat were running for skiers on the Seebuck.
