We were expecting much more, even at Baldenweger Hütte the stones are only slightly covered in snow. When the grass is still peeking out even at Stollenbach and the lifts aren't running, there's not much going on around the Feldberg - almost half a meter is still missing for unbridled fun, but from 20cm plus it should already be fun.

The few centimetres of fresh snow are quite fun to cruise on. If you don't surf directly in the grass or on the stones, you'll hit the crust again and again.

Risks

It's actually surprising given the snow conditions, but there's actually already an avalanche down on Baldenweger (presumably from the beginning of December). development could be exciting, the current snow is covering a crust of rain.

Nice to finally get some snow here in the Black Forest. Let's hope that the predicted precipitation brings a lot more snow over the next few days, then something will finally happen here too.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
