Snow condition
With 30-40cm of fresh snow more than expected and it continued to snow heavily during the day. Unfortunately, the base length is missing. Both down in the forest and further up. Slalom skiing in the pines. Very little underneath in the forest. Before the snowfall, it was still really brown there for the most part.
Snow quality
The fresh snow has fallen loosely, but has been transported above the tree line. In Lermoos the snow was lighter, but there were more scratches in the skis. There was probably more wind in Bichelbach. The snow wasn't quite as loose there, but there was more lift and fewer scratches.
Risks
Steep terrain had to be avoided today. A spontaneous avalanche could be seen in the far distance in the Rastkopf area. I guess it had started in the morning, because it had already snowed a little over it again.
Overall impression
A good day with nice runs. The motto of the winter continues: the foundation is missing. But now the skis are so scratched up anyway that further scratches are no longer important. But it was still fun. The visibility was sometimes better, sometimes worse, always with more or less heavy snowfall and a stormy wind, especially in the afternoon.
