Snow condition

The snow is getting less and less on the south side. Carrying route up to approx. 1300 m, then you can start with skins. After that there is still enough snow and therefore no limited choice of route. The selected gully was still well filled and the amount of snow was not yet a problem. On the north side, at least optical descents up to 1000 m should still be possible.

Snow quality

The conditions in the gully varied from firn to rock-hard sections (including hard nodules). After that, the snow quality improved as the altitude dropped and there was mainly firn until deep slush set in shortly before the next stretch.

Risks

The gully was already unloaded and a few small snow mouths were visible during the ascent through the gully. Pay attention to the day's progress and don't leave it too late. Today the diurnal flow was not very pronounced due to the mediocre weather (it was already getting cloudy later in the morning). Otherwise, we were unable to observe any avalanche activity.

Overall impression

The weather and especially the snow in the gully could have been a bit better. Nevertheless, it was a nice trip with a beautiful gully. There were only a lot of people at the summit today and we left early.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
