Snow report Brandnertal / Rätikon, 01/14/2017

Verhalterner Powdertag aufgrund angespannter Lawinenlage. Der Powderrausch war wieder allgegenwärtig. Der aktuelle LLB und das Verbot Wälder (auch Jungwald) in Liftnähe zu shreddern hat wenige gekümmert. Mit einbisschen Vorsicht waren doch ein paar nette

The latest snowfall has significantly improved the situation. At altitudes below 1,800 m, this is a very good basis for the future. There is currently enough snow to ski down into the valley on meadows. There are clear signs of wind above the tree line, but it still looks quite homogeneous from a distance. A first step towards a base. Contact with tree stumps or stones is still very likely. Especially in exposed places.

Lightly set powder in all exposures. The white fluffy gold was everywhere today. The significant sub-zero temperatures made this possible. It wasn't as deep as on Saturday on Sunday.

Risks

According to the LLB > 2,000 m a 4 and below that a 3. We couldn't discover anything fresh. 2 old crack edges (approx. 45° steep rocky terrain north) and covered small loose snow chutes in various exposures, especially > 1,600 m, were recognizable. We didn't notice any booming noises. The amount of fresh snow was well over 50 cm. This certainly speaks for the 3 below 1,600m. One day later it was downgraded to 2.

Nice powder day. Many other "freeriders" also made the most of the day and completely tore up the terrain close to the lifts within a morning. There are still a few options for tours. In general, the situation here in the west has improved significantly.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
