Snow condition
All in all, the snow conditions are good, but the valley run and the ski trail are now snowed out again in some places and no longer looked worthwhile from the gondola. At the top of the area there is enough snow on the standard variants up to the middle station, but you still have to watch out for stone contact. Good snow conditions at the top of the glacier.
Snow quality
Strongly dependent on exposure. On north-facing slopes there is still good powder snow, on other exposures that are more inclined towards the sun, a layer of hard snow has already formed.
Risks
Compared to yesterday, the fresh snow has settled due to the influence of the sun and has largely formed a hardpack overnight, although this does not apply to north-facing slopes where the snow is still powdery and the avalanche risk is rather critical. Loose snow avalanches from sunny terrain must also be taken into account and there are still a few snow slab cracks from yesterday to be seen in the area. Nevertheless, a few tracks were visible on the north side of the Schaufelspitze today
Overall impression
In the area, every centimeter of fresh snow was ploughed over in record time yesterday. To escape the crowds in the ski area and find some good snow, we headed up the Schussgrubenkogel today. It's relatively easy to reach from the ski area and the summit slope is clearly visible from the Jochdohle. A little surefootedness on the ridge is required. The descent is moderately steep. Good powder snow on the summit slope, then partly a mixture of stable harsch cover and broken harsch. Lonely tour close to the ski area
