Snow condition

Overnight (and all day today) there was continuous unproductive snowfall. In places, almost the entire ski pole sank. The absolute snow depth is no longer a problem. Nevertheless: due to the loose consistency and the very thin layer of old snow, contact with fine snow could be felt from time to time, especially in the steep forest, but in flatter and medium-steep areas it is optimal at the moment. transitions and edges (e.g. alpine meadow - alpine road) are partly blown away.

Snow quality

Strong differences depending on the wind exposure. From very fluffy to packed drift snow.

Risks

Drifting snow situation further intensified by strong winds (with freezing cold to -18 degrees at just under 1600m). Snow plumes outside the forest. Waxing also inside the forest. Cracks along the ascent track.

Overall impression

Beautiful, traditional bad weather ski tour in the immediate vicinity of Neuberg/Mürz. Also busy due to public holiday.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
