Snow condition

Last weekend, the precipitation from the beginning of the week and today's snowfall (around 30 cm) added another 50 cm in total. The base is now decent. Due to the poor visibility, we were only out and about below the tree line in the northern sector today.

Cold fresh snow with around 30 cm on a settled base, it could hardly be better here. Buttery smooth riding and virtually no wind in the sheltered forest. I like!

Risks

From the tree line onwards, you could see numerous cornices. Due to the poor visibility, it was unfortunately not possible to get a picture of the high alpine terrain. From here on, you should definitely take a passive approach. In the wind-protected forest, the snow cover made a good impression. Fortunately, there was very little surface frost in this area last week before the snowfall. There was quite a lot of sluff in the steeper forest areas. You should bear this in mind and choose solid pitches.

Somehow, Christmas, birthdays and Easter come together quite often at the moment.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
