Snow condition

The amount of snow above 1500m above sea level (north side) is really extreme. I haven't seen this much snow in the region for years (not since 1999). These days there was about 1m of fresh snow at 2000m.

Snow quality

There was a strong wind at the top and the snow was pressed accordingly. But even below 2000m to 1500m the snow was really good. Below that, however, it was already totally rotten due to the warming.

Risks

dangerous! The strong winds caused extreme wind loads today. We triggered many small slides, even remotely. Yesterday there was a high avalanche risk. Today only considerable. But there was not one small slide yesterday. The wind has made matters much worse and, with the lowering of the avalanche danger level, somewhat insidious.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

There is so much snow that you can really jump over the many cushions. Simply a dream.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
