Snow condition
Descent still possible to Mittelberg without any problems. Good snow conditions in the off-piste area. In steep gullies, however, you still have to watch out for steep contact.
Snow quality
Today we were only on the north side of the terrain in two gullies, most of which have not yet been exposed to the sun. The snow was still powdery there: loose powder snow in one gully and wind-pressed powder snow in the other.
Risks
The diurnal warming is particularly important on sunny slopes. On the shady side, the snow cover makes a stable impression; in steep gullies, watch out for sluff. Otherwise, there was a larger (older?) slab to be seen below the ridge of Mittagskogel (southern exposure, see photo).
Overall impression
Conditions in the upper 3-star range. Conditions are still good for steep, north-facing terrain. At least on slopes and gullies where the wind and snow slides haven't already taken out the good snow). If you're not in the mood for firn yet, you'll find good powder snow on shady slopes. Definitely whets the appetite for the steep face season :)
