Vom Winde verweht - Kurzer Ausflug in die Lizum

Snow condition
Compared to the rest of the season, there is now good snow in the Lizum. Still not much compared to other years. But at least there is enough to ski down to the valley stations everywhere. All the variants in the ski area are now skiable, but many of the backs are also blown off. Even the meadows and forests are now a good 20cm thick after the rain last week.
Snow quality
Unfortunately, the wind has done a great job and a lot of snow has been transported. The increased temperature due to the hair dryer is also noticeable. In sheltered hollows and in the forest, the snow was still good in the morning. Unfortunately, everything was already very choppy... In total, however, a good 20 cm more has fallen.
Risks
According to the LLB in the upper area over 2200m level 3, (in the afternoon due to strong wind and fresh snow increase to level 4). We also saw small snow slabs. The freshly transported snow slid. Due to the wind and poor visibility, larger runs were not possible. But in my opinion, they would not have been advisable either. However, caution is certainly advised in the coming days. The predicted fresh snow could cover the current drift snow packs and thus become dangerous.
Overall impression
Well, unfortunately the lifts were closed because of the hairdryer and it was already very snowy. But basically there's a lot more snow now and it's finally going to be winter in the Lizum in March!
