Noch ein Tag Schonfrist (Aflenzer Bürgeralm)

Snow condition
The Aflenzer Bürgeralm is located on the south side of the Hochschwab massif and is therefore shielded from the northern slopes. The snow depth is not particularly good, but sufficient for the larch forest surrounding the ski area. The alpine meadows don't need much snow anyway, so you can ski quite carefree. The third star goes to the possibility to ski down to 800m on the official downhill run (ok, it's just a wide road). And all this without artificial snow.
Snow quality
Better than expected. Some fresh snow on a settled layer of old snow, only a crust could be felt further down in the forest. Some slopes were surprisingly good and pleasant to ski. Because of the alpine terrain, it was also possible to ski without the constant fear of sharks and other disturbing factors.
Risks
Low. All around the small piste ski area, the usual freeride slopes are also rather harmlessly steep.
Overall impression
Contrary to expectations, today began as an increasingly sunny and still cool winter day. It even snowed a little overnight. As the day progressed, it got warmer and warmer and, in combination with the sun, we had real spring conditions in the afternoon. All in all, a pleasant day of family skiing.
