Snow condition
You have to carry quite a bit. There was continuous snow cover from about 1800-1900m on the shaded side. That means you can easily ski down >1000m and for a while it will still be possible without touching the glacier.
Snow quality
Quite nice! Mostly nice butter firn, only at the bottom I would have needed more wax, it was quite slow there. Above about 2800m, various, mainly soft layers alternate in small areas, and the departure at 11am was just right.
Risks
Spring conditions, but in some places it hasn't radiated properly. On very steep slopes, a superficial layer of wet snow slides off easily, but only small amounts.
Overall impression
Beautiful day with pretty good snow. It was good to be out and about again...
Except for a Gaper tour group (were somehow complaining about the good snow???) no people up there.
Unfortunately, the second half of the ascent was in a whiteout with strong winds, but it opened up nicely for the descent.
Can go on like this.
