Snow condition

For this time of year it is clearly below average, south-facing slopes are estimated to be covered up to around 1,500 meters and the descents to the valley floor are virtually impossible.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

There is powder on the north side, otherwise it is mostly a load-bearing crust. There is already spring snow on the south to south-western slopes, which is fun to cruise around midday. Above around 2,500 meters, the snow is very compact and the first view from the chair can be quite deceptive.

Risks

The main danger currently seems to be the warming. Near the ridge there are still fresh (Saturday and Sunday) and old accumulations of drift snow, which were clearly visible.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

Four days of carnival escapism in the Zillertal. With a few meters of tracks, many great first tracks are still possible. However, knowledge of the area or map study to find the ideal exposure for the descent is necessary to have fun.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
