Snow report La Grave, 04/05/2015

Overall impression
Snow condition
Bad this year. Downhill run in La Grave no longer possible. Glaciers are also not particularly well covered in snow, which was also pointed out by the local guides.
Snow quality
Last week's fresh snow came with a lot of wind. It rained up to 2000 during the precipitation period.
Risks
Heavy drifts at high altitudes, one night the snow couldn't radiate so that wet snow slabs came down quite early. But that can change quickly. In general, the conditions were not suitable for a crossing and we broke off after 2 days due to the critical situation. Unfortunately, another bad accident happened here on Wednesday...
Overall impression
Unfortunately, the conditions didn't play along. The week was overshadowed by the accident on the Col emil pic. We were then able to do a few nice tours near Sestriere.
