A west-facing start at around 1100 m was just about possible today. On the ascent and descent, I only had to take my skis off for a few meters on a path. The rest went quite well. It's slowly but surely getting quite thin in the sunny exposures. I suspect that in a few days it will only be possible to do something on the north side. There was no contact with the enemy on the descent to the car.
Snow quality
Unfortunately, the night was not completely clear and so there was no homogeneous melted resin cover. Some places were already soft in the early morning, other sections had a thin cover. On the descent shortly before 9 a.m., the snow on the south-east side was already quite soft and damp (no firn). At this point, the snow was still quite ok to ski.
Risks
Due to the limited radiation during the night, an early start and an early finish were essential today. On the north-east side, a few quite massive snow patches have formed compared to last week.
Overall impression
Comfortable early bird ski tour with few crowds and sunshine.
