Snow condition
The snow cover is predominantly 30-50 cm thick. It is possible to ski down into the valley to Grindelwald, but it is mostly hard frozen artificial snow and not really fun. Not even with downhill skis.
Snow quality
The slopes above the middle station have a good grip, the terrain in the shadows of the big three has a thin layer of harsh snow but is pleasantly soft underneath. We didn't really notice any varnishing.
Risks
low, the amount of snow is manageable. In steeper terrain, the risk of falling on ice would certainly be a serious risk.
Overall impression
Beautifully empty, beautifully sunny, beautifully expensive
