We were out and about between 900-1600 m today. At 900 m, the snow cover is clearly above average (according to SLF >170%) and still quite homogeneous. From about 1200 m and where it is thinner, the snow cover becomes more inhomogeneous. Here it is meters high in some places. Exposed areas and ridges generally free of snow. It tends to be more homogeneous in the forest. The precipitation in the form of snow is above average, but the high variability of the snow cover does not allow unimpeded skiing over the entire terrain.

Still quite dry at the start in the morning. Everything changed completely within 2 hours. From 1600 to approx. 1200 fine creme brulee ;-). Very damp very quickly underneath. Pure braking snow. Still quite fun in the untracked area. It was best in the tracked area.

Risks

The tour itself is already in very moderate terrain and all danger spots can be easily avoided. The partly poor visibility prevented an assessment of the entire terrain. There were no signs of danger in the ascent area. In the near summit area there are many older drift snow deposits in exposed places. With the warming, everything appeared to be quite strongly bound.

Today, the focus wasn't on the downhill run. We just wanted to be outside and enjoy the snow. Today's tour offered this. And yet the descent was better than expected. Unfortunately, it got too warm too quickly. It was already raining almost at 1000m before noon.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
