Snow condition

On the purely sunny side, more and more patches of snow are appearing at lower altitudes. Today there were no problems skiing down to approx. 1200 m on the south-east side. On the north side, we skied down to about 1000 m without any problems today. On the bottom line, however, the snow cover is already decreasing considerably due to the strong sunlight. The terrain is now becoming much more undulating again, streams are appearing and cleared forest paths are already leading to some short stretches. For the time of year, conditions are still good for the altitude below 2000 m.

We bet on firn today and got very good firn. Conditions were really good on the sunny side until later in the morning. Surprisingly, there was still good powder snow on our final run in a sheltered north-facing forest aisle, where there was no sun.

Risks

Classic spring conditions, start early and finish activities early. There are still plenty of fish mouths around. You should definitely keep an eye on these.

Another fine day with good firn and powder turns at the end.
