Die Ruhe vor dem Sturm
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
As already observed further down yesterday, a very heterogeneous snow cover. Partly nothing, partly 2-3 m. Unfortunately, large areas above 2500 m are also bare. It looks best on the north side down to 1500 m, where there is still 50-100 cm in the Vallee du Galbe. Overall snow conditions are below average, but it would be good as a base for fresh snow.
Snow quality
Three stars here, because we were able to ski down beautifully firn-covered snow as far as possible. Only below 2000 on south-facing slopes is the snow really lazy.
Risks
Hola die Waldfee, in the Vallee du Galbe there are some really big slides both on the south side (I've often seen them) and on the north side (I've never actually seen anything go down there apart from a few small slides). On the south side, everything that can go down has already gone down, the danger actually comes from steep slopes on the east, north and west sides (in contrast to what I wrote yesterday), which have not all been unloaded yet. Shark danger continues.
Overall impression
Three stars because we rode in a fairly long island surrounded by clouds today. Furthermore, the tour from Fromigueres via the Lacs de Camporeills to the Pic de Mortiers and the subsequent descent into the Vallee du Galbe is one of the most scenic descents ever for me. At the end, unfortunately, the wind got the better of us and the next few days were marked by storms and fresh snow and/or rain. The poor image quality is not due to the clouds that were already gathering, but rather to a patch of sun cream directly on the camera lens, which of course I only noticed at the very end.
