In sheltered areas, there is consistently over 70 cm of snow. In hollows or behind the edges of the terrain even considerably more (see photo)! But still be careful. There is 0 carpet pad.

The zero degree limit is probably only just below 2000m. The snow is cold (again, only in sheltered areas) and quite loose. But you quickly realize that the wind was everywhere and it's not pure fluffy powder! Where the storm has raged, there are drifts and wind-pressed snow everywhere.

Risks

According to the LLB, there is no stage yet. The text reads: "Sliding snow avalanches on steep meadow slopes, watch out for drift snow above the tree line!". Wind signs can be seen everywhere. But we couldn't see any dry snow slabs. We also dug a sliding block. We couldn't find any distinctive layers on our slope.

So treeruns like this in October really make you look forward to more. Hopefully the next northern congestion won't be too long in coming!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
