Snow condition

From Saturday to Sunday night it snowed about 20 - 25 cm of fresh snow. Unfortunately, it started to rain during the night and the snow line got higher and higher. On Sunday and Monday it was so warm that unfortunately a lot of the snow melted away again. On Sunday there was quite a lot of blasting until late afternoon. There was a bang every quarter of an hour. As a result, many slopes are now without snow again. Unfortunately, it started raining again on Monday night up to about 2000m. Above that it snowed about 5-10cm. Luckily it was a bit colder again yesterday, so at least this snowfall will remain. However, it was quite windy during the whole period, so the snow was blown away again.

Due to the different weather conditions, everything was there. On Sunday, the snow was pretty soggy up to about 2500m. On Monday, the glacier opened up again after numerous blasting operations the day before. The snow was still fine up there. As it had snowed from Monday to Tuesday at higher altitudes (over 2000m), the snow in the terrain was at least okay on the surface. There was a hard crust underneath.

Risks

Pretty tricky. According to the LLB warning level 3, I would even guess a 4 in places. On Sunday we had a bombing atmosphere in Sölden. There was blasting all day long. The snow cover was partially soaked to the ground. Numerous avalanches were visible.

Unfortunately, the weather gods didn't play along once again. Winter has been really bad so far ....
