Who doesn't dream of one of the legendary boat-and-ski trips through the Norwegian fjords: going on ski tours directly from the sea and exploring the fascinating wilderness of the Norwegian mountains? The first few pages explain the special climate of northern Norway and how this Arctic-influenced climate affects the risk of avalanches. At the end of each chapter on one of the regions there is an overview map of the tours as well as a map section at a scale of 1:50,000. Additional information includes GPS coordinates of start and finish points, altitude, exposure, steepness, time required, best time for the ascent, special equipment required and difficulties as well as special dangers of the respective tours. The ski touring guide "Ski Touring in Troms" is a selection guide that presents many particularly interesting tours in an area with countless other tour options. It would simply be impossible to include every tour in the Troms region in this work, nor is that the aim of this successful publication. Instead, the guide describes numerous lesser-known peaks in a magnificent landscape. For anyone planning a sail & ski tour in northern Norway or simply spending a few days in Tromsø, the guide book offers a good selection of tour options with something for everyone.
