In order to rule out the risk of system failure, Mammut is therefore calling for all affected systems to be retrofitted, regardless of whether they have already been checked.
Affected are the airbag systems from the winter 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 production seasons and models:
- Removable Airbag System RAS - Protection Airbag System - Snowpulse Lifebag System
These systems can be used in backpacks made by Mammut, Snowpulse, Highmark by Snowpulse, Scott, as well as Ferrino, Oakley and Jones Snowboarding.
Models with Inflation System 2.0 from the winter 2014/2015 production season and models with Inflation System 1.0 (system before 2011) are not affected. The production year of the Avalanche airbag can be found at the bottom left of the deployment unit. By fitting this special retrofit part, the "Venturi clip", the risk of the device failing can be eliminated. The specially developed clip prevents the affected connection from loosening, which means that the airbag can no longer lose its function when in use.
The Venturi clip can be easily retrofitted by any customer. The required clip, including installation instructions, can be requested free of charge using an order form. Shipping takes approx. two days. The Venturi clip can also be ordered free of charge from any Mammut store or Mammut dealer.
