Filmed mainly in North America, the new film from Transworld covers the entire spectrum of snowboarding. Only the sequences in the halfpipe are a little short. Otherwise, the scenes involving Ikka Bäckström, Chris Greniers, Eero Niemela and the others are truly impressive.
The cover of "Get real" immediately catches the eye. The front and back covers together show a jump in front of a picturesque backcountry.
This year's Transworld flick kicks off with some hefty rail bangers. Overall, however, the whole spectrum of snowboarding is covered, filmed mainly in the USA and Canada.
Ikka Bäckström shows his skills in the backcountry on thick cliffs and kickers, then we can admire Chris Grenier's smooth moves in urban terrain or Eero Niemela riding a sick line in snurfer style. Scott Stevens and Jed Anderson provide the playfulness that has been increasingly in evidence since "Patchwork Pattern". Scotty Lago is the only one to be seen in the pipe, which he - just like everything else - tears to shreds. Devun Walsh unfortunately didn't get a full part, but he rides just as smoothly as ever.
Conclusion
All in all, a good 40-minute mix that is varied in terms of riding and music, perhaps lacking one or two outstanding tricks, but it certainly makes most viewers want to board.
