Travis Parker does the honors. One of the greatest snowboard legends is back and shows the film world "Respect Your Elders", a film that focuses on the love of powdering with friends. Together with a group of partly old hands and partly young rippers, the crew embarks on an adventure trip from California to Alaska. The cast includes Josh Dirksen, Ben Lynch, Brandon Cocard and, of course, Traivs Parker himself. This film from Mr. Parker's own production company, Resourcefull Gnome, is very likeable.
While watching the film, you feel like you're in the middle of a group of friends. It brings back memories of your own trips and creates a pleasant movie atmosphere. Everything was filmed by hand and almost looks like a private video. The great soundtrack supports both the enjoyment of what is presented and the indulgence in one's own memories. The choice of lines and tricks is particularly important. This movie does not aim to showcase the pinnacle of snowboarding. It manages to keep everything within the realm of what is feasible and imaginable and thus focuses above all on the fun of this sport. Unfortunately, it's a shame that the movie is only 29 minutes long, which makes you want to keep watching.
Conclusion
A welcome change with a great team, beautiful music and great images. My personal favorite this season.
