Nothing new in the west, or how Ullr sweetens our wait with lots of small snowfalls. Now that last week's dump has been digested and photographed, this week will see a punctual replenishment on the northern and western slopes of the Alps. It has already started to snow in the west and north of Switzerland and in France today and the front will also move eastwards along the northern edge of the Alps during the course of the day.
On Monday (12.12.2011), 10-20 cm will fall across the board, with up to over 30 cm in the west. A nice refreshment in the areas with a base. The snow line will drop below 1000m.

Not much will happen on Tuesday and the next small wave will arrive on Wednesday, which should again bring up to 30 cm in the west and 10-20 cm in the rest of the country. In the west, up to plus 10 cm to the standard values are possible, in the east and south of the Alps the dreaded minus 10 cm, i.e. zero new snow total, is also possible.
In between, there will always be small foehn-like clearings where you can ski in good visibility and which shouldn't melt away too much snow as it won't be excessively warm.
Thursday will probably be quite warm and quite windy and then the new alarm will sound, because on Friday Ullr really turns up the heat! From today's perspective, everything is on offer: Hurricane, monster dump, warmth, foehn, and then wintry cold with north/north-westerly thunderstorms. How, when, where and in what order on Thursday. How things could continue AFTER that is still completely open.
Continue to make sacrifices to Ullr! It's working great!
Powder to the people!
