Snow condition
The first slope of the piste to the Wannenjoch had no more snow before the recent snowfall I suspect. Above 1500 meters you can ski completely without hesitation I would say, below that a good choice of route is important. For the time of year, there's nothing to complain about.
Snow quality
Around 10 cm of fresh snow at the bottom and a good 20 cm at the top. Very even, very fluffy - really great, bordering on 4 stars. Above 1500 meters the base was hard, if you didn't hit old tracks it was great. Between 1500 and 1300 meters the surface breaks, which spoils the riding pleasure a little. Below 1300 meters the surface is hard again.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
From the western slopes of the Ponten and the eastern slopes of the Bschießers came several loose snow slides that are not so small. I think sluff can be an issue in steeper terrain, the loose fresh snow slid a bit when braking turns. Otherwise, the snow cover felt very even to us. Due to the situation described in the LLB "difficult to recognize drift snow packs", we refrained from a more ambitious tour.
Overall impression
April powder! Unfortunately also April weather...we turned around at 1900 meters due to a complete whiteout and skied the first 200m along our ascent track. After we passed the hut below the cirque we had perfect visibility up to the summit again - unfortunately bad timing today. Tomorrow there will probably be more good powder on most of the slopes as long as the sun doesn't stay out too long.
